The company funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has tied up with BSES Capital Power Limited to set up 3,000 charging stations in Delhi.

"Our goal is to develop a network of 20,000 EV chargers in the next one-and-a-half years ..." he said, when asked about the investment, Rupesh Kumar, chief executive officer (CEO) of EVIL Technologies, told PTI- "It will be about Rs 100 crore. We are talking to some financial partners, who are making available funds for the leasing model. We are talking to some of them first. "Presently, this startup presence is in 16 cities of ten states.

Earlier, the government has issued some guidelines for setting up of charging stations for e-vehicles across the country. There is a clear mention in the guidelines that such charging stations are to be set up at every 25 kilometers. The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said in an official statement that the government expects that by 2030, 25 percent of all vehicles running on the roads will be e-vehicles. In this case, there is a need to set up infrastructure for charging e-vehicles across the country.

It has been said that at least one e-vehicle charging station should be built on every 100 kilometers on both sides of highways for capable or heavy electric vehicles to go for long distance. The government has also advocated the construction of a charging station in the residential areas. Also, public charging stations are recommended to be installed at every 25 kilometers on both sides of the road or highway.
