New Delhi: Applications received from private sector 6,000 experts for 10 posts of Joint Secretary level in different departments of the Central Government. Of these, only 89 names have been sorted for further. That is, 98.54 percent applications were rejected. In June last year, the Ministry of Personnel had invited applications from private sector people specializing in different areas for appointment to the post of joint secretary from 'Lateral Entry'.
July 30 last date of application
These posts are in Revenue, Financial Services, Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Agricultural Welfare, Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, New and Renewable Energy, Civil Aviation and Commerce Department. The last date for application for these posts was July 30. Total 6,077 applications were received in response to the government advertisement. In December, the Ministry of Personnel decided that the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will work on the selection of candidates on these posts.
3,768 - Detected applications of deposits
After this, the UPSC asked all the applicants to submit the verified application form. Candidate's academic qualifications and experience details were sought in this. Officials said that out of the 6,077 applicants, 3,768 submitted the collected application. Out of these 3,768 applications, 641 applications are received for the post of Joint Secretary in the Financial Services Department. After this, for the appointment of 545 agricultural and agricultural welfare, 405 environment, forest and climate change and 346 road transport and highways ministry.
For the post of joint secretary in the Department of Commerce 341, 299 for the Department of Revenue, 238 for Aviation, 201 for Ship Transport and 162 applications for appointment in the Department of Economic Affairs. After further scrutiny of these applications, only 89 candidates were sorted out. A senior official of the Ministry of Personnel said that in the initial applications, 98.54 percent have been dismissed. Officials said that these shortlisted candidates can be called for interview.
